Product Details

A trio of BYU students embarked on a scavenger hunt in the library this semester, seeking to discover whether the unseen culprits of missed lectures and make-up homework might grow within the pages of textbooks.

The student research team designed their experiment for an assignment from their microbiology class lab assignment. The group first considered exploring the 10-second rule for class but the idea was already taken, and Nicholson said he and his team wanted to come up with something more original. Eventually, the students decided to swab books in the library to test whether microbes could survive and spread in an extremely dry environment.

The team, however, was unable to determine the types of microbes present in the samples. Their results only reflected the number of microbes living in the library. But they found out that the doorknobs in the library are 100% covered with bacteria. The visitors can transfer the bacteria to books after they open the door.

The illness-causing microorganisms on library books have long tortured both the readers and the librarians. Readers often fall in a dilemma. They are fond of reading, while they are afraid of the foreign elements that left on books. The librarians suffer most from the terrible working environment. They try to clear away the thick dust on books, but they will expose themselves directly to the pathogenic microorganisms. To liberate the librarians from the awful condition, Evertree company has developed a type of effective book sterilizer, which is capable of disinfecting the disease-causing microorganisms in 30 seconds. It is noticing that the disinfection rate can reach to 99.9% in 30 seconds. The dust and other foreign materials dwelling on books can also be effectively removed. With ten years’ concentrating on designing the best book sterilizer, the company has made fruitful achievements in this field. The company is still making strenuous efforts to constantly upgrade to better serve the necessities of the readers as well as the librarians. By independent research and development, the lifespan of the UV-C lamp has extended to at least 1,5000 times on/off, which is 3-6 times that of our competitors. We have achieved a test report from an authoritative test agency proving that the lifespan of our effective book sterilizer can reach 30,000 times on/off.
